Medlin with Paint were first recommended to us when we needed a bedroom in our Georgian house papered and decorated. Our designer asked us “Do you want a decorator or a REALLY good decorator?” We chose the latter because the walls are quite twisted and the paper we had chosen was a lattice; a terrible combination for someone who is pedantic about straight lines. There was no fuss; it just happened and the results are perfect. It’s as if they “bent” the paper to fit the walls. Since then, each year, they have returned to “restore” one room at a time. The house had over 200 years of paint and filler clogging mouldings, covering up cracks and hiding much of th beauty. Simon’s team worked tirelessly to carefully strip off all the old paint, expose the original craftmanship and leave each room better than we could have hoped for. Last year they did the entire exterior to the same high standard and a year on it looks as if it were done last week. His team are more than just painters and decorators; they really care about the results. Their knowledge of the different paints and materials is extensive and Simon ensures that the level of finish meets the client’s expectations every time.
Simon was recommended to us by de Gournay, as someone who could not only hang their wallpaper, but who may also be able to help us with the decorative painting, that was required in the same room. As it was, Simon was able to take on the complete redecoration of the family sitting room.
Simon was excellent to work with from the very start of the project, giving advice on paint finishes and colours, always happy to answer questions and supply sample boards. From our first meeting when Simon came to take measurements for the wallpaper, right through to the completion of the family sitting room, Simon worked incredibly hard and achieved a very high standard of finish with all aspects of the work. Simon spent a considerable amount of time with me discussing the colours of the paint work and of the paint effects, to ensure that just the right colours were chosen to compliment the wallpaper, his painting and wallpapering skills are second to none.

Simon hung wallpaper throughout our home, ranging from silks (de Gournay) to grass cloths and hand painted (Porter Telio) and printed (Hermes). His work involved highly pattered papers, very high walls and difficult spaces to access.
